Individuals Breakdown: District 9 Girls

D9-AA Girls - Individuals Breakdown

With the graduation of Michelle Bauer, we'll get a new individual champ in District 9's Class AA. Her former teammate Amanda Foster will look to take her place atop the D9 podium. Foster was second to Bauer at districts last year, and then ran a great race at states to take 19th overall and earn a medal.

Foster kept it rolling on the track this spring, running 5:15 for 1,600 meters , signaling that she's ready for an even bigger fall on the trails.

Karns City's Rebecca Pennington was third at districts last year. The rising senior was knocking on the door of sub-20 minutes last fall and should approach that mark again this fall. Look for her to provide a good challenge to Foster up front this season.

Punxsutawney Area's Isabel Hackenberry took fifth and the district last season and will look for a similar performance this season, once again leading the way for her team. Amanda Little will be leading Bradford Area this season and will try to improve on her seventh place finish from last season. Also for Bradford, Bethany Bednez was tenth last season and Shea Crissman was 11th at the district meet.

Clearfield Area's Paige Mikesell and the Saint Marys Area duo of rising sophomores Tessa Grotzinger and Lucy Anthony are among the other returners from the top ten last fall.
