Throwback: Josh Hoey Runs 1:48 Against The Pros


At last year's Henderson Invitational, Josh Hoey continued his brilliant senior season of high school with a strong race in an elite 800 meter field.

Hoey, of Bishop Shanahan, went 1:48.63 for sixth in the field. It was -- at the time -- an outdoor PR for him and was one of five 1:48 efforts of 2018. During the indoor season, Hoey ran 1:47.67 to set the national high school record over 800 meters.

Since then, Hoey turned pro himself and is part of the Missions Athletic Club

Ebose Ibadin won the race in 1:47.28, while Jesse Garn was second in 1:47.31. Watch the race below and check out the race results:
