Thelma Davies placed third in the high school section of the 100 meters at Sunday's Prefontaine Classic in Stanford, California.
The Girard College senior, who is in the middle of a busy summer on the track, ran 11.46 to take third behind winner Kenondra Davis of Texas and second place Jayla Jamison of South Carolina. Davis won in 11.43.
This race comes a week after Davies took second at the USATF U20 Championships in Miramar, Florida. There, she broke her own Pennsylvania state record and qualified for the Pan-American U20 Championships with a second place finish in 11.25.
Next up for the LSU signee Davies is likely Pan-Ams, which will come on July 19-21. She qualified for the 100 meters in the meet that will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica.
