Team Preview

Archbishop Wood made its return to D12-AA (after spending some time in D12-AAA) a successful one last year. Wood scored 46 points to narrowly defeat Msgr. Bonner & Abp. Prendergast (Prendie). But this year, Wood will be in retooling mode, as Prendie looks to take over the top spot.

Prendie had good depth last season and that will make this squad the favorites this fall. 5 varsity runners are back from last year, including 4 scorers. The Pandas will be tough be beat for the D12-AA title.

Ultimately, for the likes of Wood and Lansdale Catholic, it will be a numbers game. These squads will look to find some depth to make them a contender for the top spot, or at least the top two, which would get them to Hershey. Prendie, though, is in the driver's seat this fall.

Individuals Preview

Last year's champion Miracle Price from Saul has transferred to Friends' Central, so we'll see a new champion in D12-AA this fall. The top returner from the district meet last year is Archbishop Wood's Shannon Kelly. She was third a year ago and will look to move up to the top spot.

But she'll get a good challenge from Lansdale Catholic's Taylor Connelly, who was fourth at districts last season. The pair were also close to each other at the state meet a week later, so this should be a very close battle for the district title.

Prendie's Maggie Salter should also be a factor. She was fifth in the district last year and should be in the mix along with Kelly and Connelly near the front. Salter's teammate Corrina O'Lock and Elizabeth Radek were also top 10 finishers a year ago; both are back to make a formidable top three for the Pandas this season.
