Individuals Preview

Taylor Allderdice's Eli Anish will go for his second straight District 8 individual title. Last year, he went 16:56 at Schenley Park to pick up the district win. Now a senior, he shoots for two-in-a-row this fall. He was 97th at states, the highest placed of any D8 boy.

Looking to challenge him is rising junior Kody Klein of Cathedral Prep. He was second to Anish a year ago in the district before placing 137th at states. He should be able to give Anish a run for his money with the D8 title on the line.

McDowell's Colton Martin, the Allderdice pair Isaiah White and Eric Rohrer, and the Prep duo of Devan Bailey and Andrew Brown are among the other top returners to watch for in D8 this fall.

Team Preview

Taylor Allderdice fended off a challenge to its long reign atop District 8 last season. With McDowell and Cathedral Prep coming over from District 10, Allderdice still captured the district title, scoring just 24 points. Prep was second with 58 points, while McDowell was third with 59 points.

Allderdice returns five varsity boys from last season. Anish leads the way with White, Rohrer, and Nathan Feinstein back from the top ten in the district from a year ago.

Prep brings back its full top five, so it will look to bridge the gap to Allderdice. McDowell returns just its top three, so it will look to retool this season to have a shot at District 8's lone state qualifying spot.
