Throwback: Livingston Sweeps The Hurdles At Ship

Jane Livingston had a big day at the Ship Invite last year and it wouldn't be the last time the then-senior and current freshman at Villanova would find success on that track.

Livingston, of Conestoga Valley, solidified herself as one of the state's best -- and most versatile -- hurdlers last year at Ship winning both the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles in domating fashion at the midseason meet on the same track that plays host to the PIAA District 3 Championships and PIAA State Championships.

Saturday would have brought us the 94th edition of the Shippensburg Jack Roddick Invitational. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, it won't happen this season. So let's look back on one of the big moments from last year's meet.

Livingston went 13.59 dominate the field in the 100 meter hurdles in a race that was run in the opposite direction of the track due to some strong winds. While there was no wind gauge to measure, Livingston's time would stand as her personal best in the event until the USATF U20 Junior Championships, where she ran 13.57.

She returned in the 300 meter hurdles, once again running away with the victory in a time of 44.48 with no competitors in sight by the time she hit the homestretch.

Livingston also helped the Buckskins to the win in the 4x100 meter relay (then a PA No. 1 time of 48.08) and she also PR'd in the 200 meters to take third (26.15).

At the state meet in late May back at Ship, Livingston completed the same hurdles double, winning state titles in both the 100 meter hurdles and the 300 meter hurdles, closing out a dream season for the senior.
