Individuals Breakdown

Liberty's Emily Jobes enjoyed a breakout season last fall, clocking a PR of 18:17 at Paul Short and then winning the District 11 AAA individual crown in runaway fashion. Jobes took 13th at states. Now she returns for her senior season, as the D11-AAA favorite once again and one that should make some more noise on the state stage.

There are seven other returners back from the top ten in the district from last season. Emmaus went 2-3 at the district meet last year with Keerstin Augustin and Isabela Lees and both of those girls are back with Augustin entering her senior year and Lees is a junior. Meanwhile, Emmaus' Hailey Reinhard, a freshman who was seventh at districts last year, is back after a breakthrough state meet race where she led the Hornets with a 49th place finish. Look for those girls to pack up.

Stroudsburg's Ciara Conboy (fourth at districts), Northampton's Georgia Wiswesser (fifth), East Stroudsburg South's Marianne Tassinari (ninth), and Freedom's Lauren Charboneau (tenth) are all back from the top ten at states last season.

It should be an interesting season with plenty of depth in D11-AAA, but it looks like everyone will be chasing Jobes up front.

Team Preview

Emmaus put three in the top seven and four in the top 13 last season, as the Hornets rolled to the district crown in AAA at DeSales. Now that whole varsity group is back this season with even more experience. Augustin, Lees, Hailey Reinhard, and Kera Reinhard make for a very strong top four that will make this team the big favorite for another AAA district title. Emmaus will also be looking to improve upon its 12th place state meet finish.

Liberty, which earned the second of two state qualifying spots last year, looks to have the firepower to compete for another berth to Hershey. Jobes will lead the way up front for this team that brings back five varsity girls from last season. While it loses its No. 2, Belle Weikert, look for Liberty to give a good run for the top two.

Southern Lehigh will be right in the mix, though. The Spartans lose its top runner from last season, but bring back the rest of a relatively young varsity squad from last year with four girls who were separated by just 4 seconds at the district meet last fall.

Parkland brings back all seven varsity girls from last year's team that took fourth in the district. If it can move some girls up in the field, Parkland could be a major factor for the top two. Northampton Area should be solid this season, while Easton Area isn't a team that can be counted out here.
