Individuals Breakdown

Lauren Trapani will look to win her fourth straight District 4 individual title this season. She won in D4-A as a freshman and then in D4-AA as a sophomore and junior. The Warrior Run senior run away with the title each year of her career and she will once again be the big favorite in D4 for a four-peat.

Trapani was ninth at the state meet and should be a contender for another high finish at the state meet this season in AA. It's hard to believe she is already a senior, but she will look to close out her career on a high note.

Shikellamy's Alyssa Keeley broke through as a sophomore last season. She was second in the district, and then placed 27th at states, just missing a state medal. She will be aiming to move up this season and make a run at another high district and state meet finish.

This is a talented district, even after those top two. Warrior Run's Emma Miller was third in the district last season and will be a factor in her senior year, as well. Other top returners include the strong Lewisburg pack of Delaney Humphrey, Olivia Beattie, and Hannah Mirshahi, who were separated by just three seconds at the district meet last year.

Montoursville's Raya Pauling, Warrior Run's Alyssa Hoffman, and Milton's Leah Walter will also be factors for big finishes this season in D4-AA.

Team Breakdown

It will be another great fight for the top team spot in District 4 Class AA. Last year's champions from Warrior Run will go for a repeat, but will be challenged by last year's runner-up Lewisburg Area. Both teams, too, will be right in the mix for the state title in AA.

Warrior Run (PA Class AA Preseason No. 1) brings back its full varsity squad from last season and will be made up of six experienced seniors. Trapani is the frontrunner, and a good bet for a top ten finish -- or better -- at the state meet. Miller is a solid No. 2, and then there's a good pack that should work together after the top two.

Lewisburg Area (PA Class AA Preseason No. 3) has five varsity girls back with its nice pack of Humphrey, Beattie, and Mirshahi. This team has the talent to keep pace with Warrior Run and can definitely make it interesting.

Warrior Run was third in the state last year and Lewisburg was fifth. Look for both teams to be in good position to grab state qualifying spots before the big show a week later at Hershey.

A team that can't be counted out is Danville Area. This team won ten straight district titles, a streak that ended last season when the squad took third in the district. But this team can rebuild well, and Danville should certainly be considered a dangerous team in the field.

Selinsgrove (fourth in the district last year) and Shikellamy (fifth) are a pair of teams that could make some noise with the favorites with strong seasons.
