Individuals Breakdown

Last year's champion, Erika Moriarty and her Kutztown team, have moved to AA, so there will be a new champion in D3-A this season. The runner-up, Braetan Peters of Annville-Cleona, also goes to AA. So the one to beat looks to be Grace Shartle of Camp Hill. She was fourth in the district last year and went on to place 33rd in the state. She is in territory to move up into state medal position.

There are a host of others back from the top ten in the district last season. Another Camp Hill runner -- Janelyn Vorkapich -- will be in the mix near the front. She was sixth at districts and 39th at the state meet, capping off a strong sophomore season..

Delone Catholic's Julia Obrien (seventh), York Catholic's Gabbie Tully (eighth), Fairfield's Morgan Dennison (ninth), and Camp Hill's Anna Long (tenth) are also back from last season in D3-A.

Team Preview

Camp Hill cruised to the District 3 Class A team title last season, during an impressive season that concluded with a third place finish at the state meet. With five varsity girls back this season, CH will once again be the favorites in D3-A.

The team loses its top girl from last year in Laura Sakol, but the Lions return Shartle, Vorkapich, and Long make up a strong top three. This team will be a good bet to runaway with the district title, ans they should once again make some noise on the state scene.

Last year's second and third place teams -- Annville-Cleona and Kutztown Area -- move to AA this season. Delone Catholic and York Catholic will look to add some pieces to try and make it close with Camp Hill this season.
