Tuesday brought a competitive tri-meet in Mechanicsburg, as Mid-Penn foes State College, Chambersburg, and Cumberland Valley met at CV. While State College rested some key runners on the heels of Saturday's PIAA Foundation Invitational, Chambersburg impressed earning sweeps on both the boys and girls sides.
In the boys race, Cumberland Valley's Jordan Tiday came out on top with the win, pulling away from the field in the second half of the race, to finish in 16:44. Chambersburg took five of the next six spots, though, led by Brayden Boyd, who was second in 17:26. Chambersburg claimed wins over State College (18-45) and Cumberland Valley (20-39), while CV beat SC 19-44. SC rested its varsity squad.
On the girls side, the Chambersburg girls were impressive. Camryn Kiser took the overall win for the Trojans, winning in 19:10. It was a great battle for the win between Kiser and State College's Marlee Kwasnica, a pair of the state's top sophomores. Kwasnica ended up second in 19:13. C'Burg's Maddie Kinton was third and CV's Brianna Wagner was fourth.
The Chambersburg girls took home wins against Cumberland Valley (20-37) and State College (20-37), while Cumberland Valley beat State College (25-32) with SC not racing a few of its top girls.
