Individuals Breakdown

Tri-Valley's Samantha Masser took home the District 11 Class A title last season, moving up from third in 2019. Masser kept it rolling into the state meet, where she finished 17th at Hershey. She will look to make it two district titles in a row this fall and also make a return trip to the medal stand at the state meet, and Masser will have a great shot to do both.

She will face a tough challenge from Palmerton's Natalie Mosier, though. Moiser, a junior this season, was second to Masser at the district meet last year in separate "heats." Mosier ended up 31st at the state meet, just on the outside looking in of medal territory. It should be a good race between these two for the top spot in D11-A this fall.

Moravian Academy's Lilly Eyvazzadeh, Notre Dame's Katherine Koons and Serena Azallina, and Minersville's Kaylei Wentz are among the other top returners this season in D11-A.

Team Preview

Notre Dame Green Pond will look to capture another District 11 title this fall. Last year, NDGP handily won the district, putting four girls in the top ten, before placing sixth at the state meet. Three of those top four girls from last year are back and this team will want to add some depth, but NDGP looks to be in a good spot to chase the title, or at least a spot in the top two.

Tri-Valley was second last year and would have earned a trip to Hershey, but the PIAA lowered the amount of qualifiers per district to just one, instead of two for D11-A. Masser, of course, is a strong No. 1 runner for TV and four other varsity girls are back from last year, which will make them a serious factor, as well.

Minersville Area will be strong too, with each of its varsity runners back from last year. Expect Moravian Academy and Marian Catholic to be in the mix for the top two. Ultimately, expect it to be a close battle for state spots this fall in D11-A.
