Watch Gary Martin Blast A 14:24 At RunningLane

Gary Martin wrapped up his high school cross country career in a big way on Saturday at the Garmin RunningLane Championships, running the fastest XC 5K ever by a Pennsylvania. In an incredibly stacked field that included the fastest high XC 5K in history, Martin went 14:24 for 11th place in the field.

Martin's time topped the previous record of 14:47, which was held by both Paul Springer and Noah Affolder. He used his usual aggressive racing strategy and it paid off. Martin hung with the leaders for much of the race, and came home with another terrific effort.
