Boys 4x200m Relay Preview
Coatesville ran into the PA#1 spot with a big race at last week's Garden State Invitational at Ocean Breeze. The Raiders clocked an impressive 1:30.32 for the win. it was a big statement that this storied sprint program is ready to chase a state crown this weekend in the 4x200m. Coatesville will aim to look for another quick race, and a shot at the win here.
Butler has been the most consistent squad in this field. Butler owns three of the top four fastest times of the season in the event, running exactly 1:31.12 not once, but twice! Last week, Butler went 1:31.65 to win the TSTCA title. This team knows how to run fast and they will look to put it all together once more to chase a state title on Sunday.
Norristown was second to Coatesville at the Garden State Invitational. This is another deep flushed with sprint talent, and in a good spot to contend for the win with its season best of 1:31.87. Episcopal Academy, meanwhile, is a team to watch. Another consistent team, they dropped two flat track 1:32s this season with its best coming a few weeks ago. Look for this team to be right in the mix.
Mount Lebanon is a team to watch. Lebo went 1:32.64 at Youngstown State earlier this month, and looks to be in good shape to go after a strong performance from an earlier heat. Radnor, Bensalem, Central Bucks West, Canon-McMillan, Penn Wood, and Wissahickon also have a good shot in this field to get inside the top five, and perhaps even go after the win with a big race.
The 4x200 is arguably the most chaotic of all indoor events. With this being a relatively wide open field, it's going to be interesting to see how it all plays out on Sunday afternoon.
