Sahfi Reed Drops 21.93 200m At PA Track Classic

With a strong 2022 outdoor debut, Sahfi Reed is emerging as a sprinter to watch this spring.

The sophomore from Martin Luther King won the 200 meters at Saturday's Pennsylvania Track Classic, running away from the field on a chilly and windy day at Plymouth-Whitemarsh High School.

Reed started his day with a 21.92 in the prelims. While there was no wind gauge, there was a significant tailwind that Reed likely benefited from. Regardless, a 21.92 in any conditions is a strong opener, considering the fact that the calendar hasn't turned over to April yet. That time puts him at PA No. 2 after Week 1.

Reed came back in the finals to win in 22.59, a strong end to what was a long day in less-than-ideal weather.

Reed had a strong indoor season for MLK. He qualified for the PTFCA Indoor State Championships in the 200 meters where he placed 17th. As we move into outdoor, Reed is proving that he will be a factor.
