Rising Spring Grove senior Laila Campbell announced her verbal commitment to Louisiana State University this weekend.

Campbell has been nothing short of spectacular through her first three years at the High School level. To this point, she has won six PIAA Outdoor State Titles. She is undefeated at the State Championship meet.

This season, she also secured a New Balance National Championship in the 100m and All-American honors in the 200m. She then competed at the USATF U20 Championships and qualified for the U20 National Team 4x100m relay pool.

Though she has one more year in the High School ranks, Campbell will join a talented LSU team upon graduation. Under Head Coach Dennis Shaver, the LSU women finished in the Top Four at 12 of the last 17 NCAA Championship meets. They finished seventh at this year's championship.

Campbell announced on Instagram.

"I would like to thank my supporters, the Spring Grove community, my family, and most of all my dad for helping me become the athlete and person that I am today," Campbell wrote. "The journey has been long, but it is not over yet."
