Park senior Trevor Barron finished 3rd in the elite one mile RaceWalk, but ran away with a US High School Record of 6:03.48. The record had been 6:11.0, set at Millrose in 1990 by Paul Travares. Barron told USATF after his event, "(I) owe a lot to Tim (Seaman), he started coaching me in '08 and I've really progressed since then. If it wasn't for him I probably wouldn't still be walking. I'm going to race in New Mexico, which is the trials for the World Cup."
