Nicole Leach and Latavia Thomas are off and runnin\' fast for West Catholic. Leach blistered a 300m in 40.9, and also lead off the 1:45.0 4x200. Thomas anchored that relay, and went 1:36.5 for the 600m win. Running her first indoor short hurdles, Plymouth-Whitemarsh senior Chanel Williams went 8.4 for 55, and was 2nd in the 300m to Leach, going 42.7. There\'s a new freshman talent making their oval debut. Her name is Megan Deakins of Conestoga, and she ripped a DMR anchor-3000 double that would make anyone happy. Her 10:47.9 3k was one of the fastest all-time at Kutztown, and she went 5:18.1 to anchor her team to a 12:49.4 DMR win. Two other newcomers had an immediate impact, as frosh Ryann Krais of Methacton captured the Long Jump with a leap of 17\'02.75\", and Penncrest 9th grader Karen Shump threw the shot 36\'01\".
