Julia Koloski of Montrose won the long jump (17-07), the triple jump (38-08.50/PA#3), and the 100 meter dash (12.38). Lauren Ellsworth of Lackawanna Township ran 58.39 to win the 400 meter dash, Nikki Black of Northwest Area ran 46.04 to win the 300 meter hurdles, Ashlee Ward of Elmer L. Meyers cleared 5-4 to win the high jump and won the discus with a PA#9 throw of 127-05, Vanessa Munley of Riverside cleared 11 feet even to win the pole vault, and Kaitchen Dearborn of Blue Ridge won the javelin with a PA#6 mark of 147-08.
For the boys, Brandon Bednash of Valley View ran 1:57.62 to win the 800 meter run, Elk Lake High School ran 7:58.72 to win the 4x800 meter relay, Darian Twyman of G.A.R. Memorial won the 110 meter hurdles (15.26) and won the high jump (6-5), Al Tuzze of Lakeland threw 52-06.50 to win the shot put, Jared Conklin of Blue Ridge threw 155 feet even to win the discus, and Dominic Deantonio of Carbondale threw 176-06 to win the javelin. |

PIAA District 2 AAA Championship
Jordan Hoyt of Abington Heights ran a T-PA#7 time of of 24.77 to win the 200 meter dash and ran a PA#6 time of 12.05 to win the 100 meter dash. Ashley Holgate of Delaware Valley ran 57.69 to win the 400 meter dash, and Brittany Martin of Abington Heights ran 2:16.87 to win the 800 meter run. Shelley Black of James M Coughlin became the new state leader in the 100 hurdles with her winning time of 14.14. She also ran a PA#4 time in the 300 hurdles with a winning performance of 44.43. She added a 3rd gold medal in the long jump with a mark of 17-07 and then she made it four gold medals with her triple jump victory with her mark of 37-11. Kayla Mantush of Hazleton cleared 5-3 to win the high jump, and Jenn Slagus of North Pocono threw 118-10 to win the discus.
For the boys, Lionel Wilson of Honesdale ran 49.43 to win the 400 meter dash and won the long jump with a mark of 22-06.25. Victor Costello of North Pocon ran a PA#10 time of 1:54.34 to win the 800 meter run, Reece Ayers of Tunkhannock ran 4:23.68 to win the 1600 meter run, and ran 9:38.24 to win the 3200. Don Pollitt of Hazleton Area became the first hurdler in PA to run an FAT time in 110 meter hurdles under 14 seconds with his winning time of 13.99. He also won the 300 meter hurdles in 40.15. Mark Badyna of North Pocono and Steve Pachuta of Honesdale both cleared 6-5 in the high jump, Tyler Savarese of Delaware Valley cleared 14-03 to win the pole vault, Pete Calderone of North Pocono threw 53-02 to win the shot put, John Price of Abington Heights threw 158-05 to win the discus, and Aaron Zack of Crestwood threw 193-03 to win the javelin. |

PIAA District 6 AA Championships
Angel Piccirillo of Homer Center was a triple winner once again, winning the 1600 in 4:55.06, the 400 in 58.73, and the 800 in 2:15.54. Leah Anne Wirfel of Forest Hills ran 11:12.31 to win the 3200 meter run, Janae Dunchack of Northern Cambria was a four time winner on the day. She cleared 5-8 in the high jump to become the new state leader in 2010. She also won the long jump (18-00.00), the 100 (12.67) and 200 meter dashes (25.64). Central Cambria ran 9:34.81 to win the 4x800 meter relay, and Courtney Bridge of Ligonier Valley won the triple jump with a mark of 36-01.

Amy Darlington of Liberty led seven girls in the 1600 meter run under the state qualifying standard, winning the race in a PA#10 time of 5:04.20. Dominique Best of William Allen ran 57.94 to win the 400 meter dash, won the long jump with a T-PA#2 mark of 19-01.50, and she ran a PA#9 time of 44.96 to win the 300 meter hurdles. Danielle Smith of Whitehall ran 25.67 to win the 200 meter dash, Amanda Faust of Emmaus ran 11:03.77 to win the 3200 meter run, Brooke Hamscher of Whitehall cleared 12 feet even to win the pole vault, Natasha McLaren of Stroudsburg cleared 5-3 to win the high jump and won the triple jump with a mark of 37-02.25.Samantha Fuss of Pocono Mountain West threw 119-09 to win the discus and Chelsea Hall of Northampton threw 122-05 to win the javelin.

Chante Moore of West Catholic ran a PA#2 time of 55.97 to win the 400 meter dash and she led her 4x100 to victory with a time of 47.68 and won the 4x400 with a time of 3:58.31. Shali Muhammad of Paul Robeson won the long jump with a mark of 18-06.25, and teammate Iyisha Weaver won the triple jump with a mark of 36-05.25.

Altoona's Brady Gehret became the new national leader in the 400 meter dash, running 46.39 to win the race. He added PA#1/T-US#10 200 meter performance with his winning time of 21.12. Gehret became PA#2 in the long jump with his mark of 23-06.50 and ran on their 4x400 meter relay that won in 3:21.59.
Alex Kenney of State College ran a PA#3 time of 10.63 to win the 100 meter dash, and ran a PA#6 time of 21.58 finishing 2nd in the 200 meter dash. Wade Endress of Altoona won the 1600 (4:23.31) and 800 meter runs (1:57.34), Alex Monroe of Indian Valley ran 9:30.61 to win the 3200 meter run, and Steven Ellis of State College ran 14.79 to win the 110 meter hurdles. Chris Carper added to his state lead in the javelin with a US#4 mark of 223-11. He also won the 300 meter hurdles in a PA#6 time of 38.58. Altoona ran a PA#10 time of 7:53.81 to win the 4x800 meter relay, and Joey Wagner of State College won the triple jump with a mark of 45-07.75.

PIAA District 7 AAA Championships Tori Pattera of Elizabeth Forward (Right in 2009 file photo by Don Rich from Baldwin Invitational) added ten inches to her personal best, became the new state leader, earned US#2 honors, earned PA all time #2 honors, and had the tenth best performance all time in the US for javelin with her winning mark of 162-09. Paterra also added a PA#4 performance of 41-10 to win the shot put.

The race featured seven performances under 9:30, with Ryan Gil running a PA#3 time of 9:10.62, Joe Kush of North Hills had a PA#7 performance of 9:16.03, and Zach Hebda of North Hills running a PA#10 time of 9:20.32. Nick Gibson of Canon-McMillan ran a PA#4 time of 4:17.77 to win the 1600 meter run, Dennis Logan ran 1:54.70 to win the 800 meter run, Marc Funderlich of Mars Area ran 49.05 to win the 400 meter dash, PJ Blinn of Seneca Valley and Brandon Ifill of Penn Hills both ran 10.91 in the 100 meter dash. PIAA District 1 AAA Championships
Arguably the deepest district in PA, their depth really showed in many events. For the girls, eight individuals or teams qualified for the state meet in ten different events! Sara Sargent of Pennsbury (Right in photo by Don Rich) set two district records, running a PA#1/US#14 time of 4:51.54 in the 1600 meter prelims to break Kim Gallagher's record of 4:54.1, and winning the final in 5:00.17. Before winning the 1600, she broke the district record in the 3200 with a PA#1/US#16 time of 10:33.80 to break the record of 10:37.55 by Donna Fidler of Norristown in 1995. Leah Nugent of Abington (Left in photo by Don Rich) was also making her own headlines in the hurdles. She became the first girl in PA to break 14 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles with her state leading time and T-US#14 time of 13.92. She also won the 300 hurdles in a state leading time of 42.90. Alicia Evans of Quakertown ran 55.53 to win the 400 meter dash, Lydia Ali of Radnor ran a PA#5 time of 11.96 to win the 100 meter dash, West Chester Henderson ran a PA#2 time of 9:16.60 to win the 4x800 meter relay, Abington ran 3:51.96 to win the 4x400 meter relay, and Cheltenham ran 48.27 to win the 4x100 meter relay. The field events featured Lauren Terstappen clearing 12 feet even to win the pole vault, and Jordan Matthews of Abington won the long jump (18-11.50) and the triple jump (37-09.25).
For the guys, the 4x800 meter relay was the deepest race of the day as all eight medaling teams qualified for the state champs, led by reigning state leader Central Bucks West in 7:50.59. Ptah Osayande of Strath Haven (Right in photo by Don Rich) was making noise in the hurdles, running 14.63 to win the 110 meter hurdles and a new state leading time of 37.99 in the 300 hurdles. Drew Magaha of Upper Moreland ran a PA#3 time of 4:16.49 to lead five guys under 4:20, Brandon Bennett-Green (48.01) and Matt Gilmore (48.16) of Cheltenham went 1-2 in the 400 meter dash, and Glen Burkhardt of Unionville ran 9:21.14 to win the 3200 meter run. Central Bucks South improved their PA#1 4x100 meter relay time with a winning performance of 42.12 and Abington improved their PA#2 time in the 4x400 meter relay with their winning time of 3:15.82.

PIAA District 9 AA Championship
Lanae Newsome of Brookville won the 100 (12.57) and 200 meter dashes (25.36), Skyler Ganoe of Clairon ran 58.23 to win the 400 meter dash, McKenna Spence of Cranberry ran 2:18.96 to win the 800 meter run, Kady Weisner of Elk County Catholic ran 5:05.15 to win the 1600 meter run, Emily Giannotti of Coudersport ran a PA#4 time of 10:52.13 to win the 3200 meter run, Jocelyn Cochran of Otto-Eldred cleared 11 feet even to win the pole vault, Megan Dornish of Elk County Catholic improved her PA#1 mark with her winning throw of 45-01.50 and won the discus with a throw of 131-10.
For the boys, Kalil Slaughter of Sheffield won the 100 (11.30) and 200 meter dashes (23.09), Vinny Dougherty of Brookville and Victor Santoyo of Moniteau both cleared 6-4 in the high jump with Dougherty also adding victories in the long jump (21-07.75) and triple jump (44-09.75). Both Patrick Anderson of Kane and Andrew Coscia of Otto-Eldred cleared 14 feet even in the pole vault, Jacob Boys of Moniteau threw 50-08.25 to win the shot put, Kurtis Jones of Redbank Valley threw 153-09 to win the discus, and Ryan Kerr of Brookville threw 180 feet even to win the javelin. |

PIAA District 10 AA Championship
When the morning field events ended Saturday morning, a line of thunderstorms came through, dropping two hours worth of heavy rain and lightning, forcing the meet to be postponed to 2pm Sunday afternoon.
Allison Gibbens of Seneca ran 58.60 to win the 400 meter dash, Morgan Richards of Hickory ran 5:14.52 to win the 1600 meter run, and General McLane led four teams under 9:50 in the 4x800 meter relay with their winning time of 9:42.40. Sammie Weinheimer of North East cleared 10-9 to win the pole vault, Kara Mostoller of Reynolds won the long jump with a T-PA#4 mark of 18-08, Fawn Miller of Lakeview threw 140-01 to win the javelin, and Emily Woods of Hickory won the shot put (42-03/PA#4) and the discus (137-06).
For the boys, Ron Jackson of Farrell won the 100 (11.09) and 200 meter dashes (22.56), Alex Beardsley of North East ran 9:47.96 to win the 3200 meter run, Trevor Foley of Titusville won the 110 meter hurdles (14.88) and 300 meter hurdles (39.20), and North East ran 7:58.44 to win the 4x800 meter relay. Derek Fieldler of Fairview cleared 6-6 to win the high jump, Ronnie Howard of Sharon won the long jump with a mark of 22-00.50, Brad Zaboroski of Wilmington threw 56-02 to win the shot put, and Matt Durisko of Hickory threw 188 feet even to win the javelin. |

PIAA District 4 AA Championship
Kalyn Fisher of Lewisburg ran 2:15.95 to win the 800 meter run and was a member of Lewisburg's 4x800 meter relay (9:39.84) and 4x400 meter relay (3:58.56). Teammate Hannah Bowen ran 5:12.98 to win the 1600 meter run, Susan Learn of North Penn ran 11:23.90 to win the 3200 meter run, Regan Rogers broke through the pack of 5-6 high jumpers to become PA#2 with her winning mark of 5-7, and Elise Buffington of Lewisburg cleared 11-09 to win the pole vault. Lauren Ball of Bloomsburg won the long jump with a mark of 17-11.50, and teammate Jenna Wargo threw 119-05 to win the discus and threw 141-08 to win the javelin.
For the boys, Jarredd Gambrell of Athens Area ran 11.04 to win the 100 meter dash, won the long jump with a mark of 22-08.75, and won the triple jump with a mark of 47-07. Teammate Clay McCarty threw 52-06.75 to win the shot put, Holden Wallace of Danville Area threw 154-08 to win the discus, and Damon Yocum of Warrior Run threw 179-01 to win the javelin. Dylon Miller of Towanda cleared 15 feet even to win the pole vault, Kyle Pane of Athens Area ran 14.74 to win the 110 meter hurdles, and Matt Oldroyd of Troy ran 1:57.92 to win the 800 meter run. |
