4/8+9-West Catholic, Ryan Whiting win every event they compete in at Arcadia CA Invitational

They went prepared for their competition. And the West Catholic girls of Philadelphia, and Ryan Whiting of Central Dauphin, captured six events in two days of some of the best competition in the US.

On the first night of competition, West Catholic doubled, winning the 4x200 in a US#2 1:38.39 US#2 (Leach 23.8-Sheard 24.5-taylor 25.4-thomas 24.7) and the sprint medley in a US#1 4:00.44 (Sheard 24.8-Ali 24.9-Leach 53.0-thomas 2:16 high). For Nicole Leach it was the end of a rather tough day of competition, as earlier on Friday, she had beaten college women at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner Kersee Invitational at UCLA with a 400 Hurdles time of 59.31 - US#1 this season.

Saturday dawns, and they\'re back at it. In the afternoon, Latavia Thomas runs a PR 2:06.76 to win a loaded 800, beating both Libby Jenke(2:07.57 and Heidi Houle (2:08.67) for the second time in a month.

During the evening, they were back at their winning ways as a relay, taking the 4x400 with a 3:42.52 (Sheard 56.2-Thomas 55.6-Taylor 58.0-Leach 53.9) following a great anchor duel between Nicole Leach (53.0) and Sade Williams (54.1) of Rancho Cucamonga, who finished second in 3:44.26. Williams (53.56) had won the open 400 after Leach scratched.

Also in the evening, Central Dauphin\'s Ryan Whiting was just simply dominant, winning the Shot Put by over six feet, and the Discus by over ten. His 66-03 picks up where he left off at indoor, and his 199-7 puts up on the road to his season goal of getting into the 220\'s in the Discus.
