Diane Filtz of Penn Trafford beat a strong field to win on the new Cooper's Lake course just south of Slippery Rock. Her 19:02 was 9 seconds ahead of Zaritza Petrova who led her Mt. Lebanon team to a second place finish behind North Allegheny. NA was powered by the 6-7 finishes of Kelley O'Brien and Michelle Diez. In the boys AAA race, Max Brown went 16:21 to lead North Allegheny to a statement win of 39-147 over 2nd place North Hills.
In the girls' AA race, Villa Maria was a mere two points better than Ellwood City. Villa placed three in the top 21. Neshannock sophomore Kacey Gibson was a runaway (sorry) winner, posting the fastest time of the day, an 18:04. The AA boys race also produced the fastest times of the day, as Avonworth Junior Lucas Zarzeczny beat Ellwood City's Jake Walker by 14 seconds, running 15:58. Elwood City won the team title by 25 over Avonworth.
