Michaela Williams of Schuylkill Valley cleared 5-1 to win the AA high jump. North Penn won the AAA 4x800 (9:49.01 meet
record) and the distance medley relays (12:44.08 meet record). Skylar Dantzler of Wilson won the AAA long jump with a mark
of 17-4.50.
For the boys, Derek Gaul of Schuylkill Valley won the AA long jump with a US#8 mark of 23-8! Trevor Stutzman of Kutztown
Area threw 162-10 to win the AA discus. Imani Brown of Reading jumped 45-6 to win the AAA triple jump. Brendan Lamy of
Wilson threw 51-9.75 to win the AAA shot put.

Kyle Long of Hempfield (3) set the lone meet record of the meet in the discus with a US#3 mark of 187-2.

Tom Lang of Pope John Paul II threw a US#2 mark of 195-8 to win the javelin. He was battled all the way by Hempfield (3) senior Stephen Feister, who threw a US#3 193-6. Hempfield coach Curt Rogers said the reason for bringing his two star throwers to the meet was to qualify for the Penn Relays. That goal was met.

Eric Futch of Penn Wood won both hurdles, winning the 110 hurdles in 15.47 (-2.5) and the 300 hurdles in 39.45. Matt Gilmore of Cheltenham won the 400 meter dash in 49.47. Chris Campbell of Council Rock North ran a solid early season 3200 meters, starting the year with a time of 9:34.93.
Tom Pitt of Malvern Prep cleared 6-6 to win the high jump. Donny Scatena of Central Columbia cleared 14 feet even to win the pole vault.
Scott Rushton of Episcopal Academy threw 56 feet even to win the shot put.
For the girls, indoor 400 meter All American Taylor Ellis-Watson of Springside started the outdoor season with two victories. She won the 200 meter dash in 25.87 and won the 400 meter dash in 56.99. Gabby Becattini of Methacton was also a double winner, winning both the long jump (17-3.50) and triple jump (37-9.50). West Chester Henderson won the 4x800 meter relay in 9:37.43. Central Bucks West won the 4x400 meter relay in 4:05.79. Maria Seykora of Notre Dame ran 5:04.80 to win the 1600 meter run. Kara Steinke of Methacton ran a solid 10:59.46 to win the 3200 meter run, taking the outright lead (and the pleasure of running solo in a steady 8-10 mpg wind).
Megan McCloskey of Germantown Academy cleared 5-6 to win the high jump. Jenn Slagus of North Pocono threw 123-4 to win the discus.

Scott Kowan of Wilson won both hurdles, winning the 100 hurdles in a US#11 time of 14.19 and the 300 hurdles in 40.06. Kevin Caporiccio of Council Rock South cleared 6-6 to win the high jump.
For the girls, Allison Updike of Tamaqua threw a US#2 mark of 144-9 to win the javelin! Jody Evans of Quakertown ran 12.25 to win the 100 meter dash. Ashely Nicola of Jim Thrope was 4th, but ran 12.00 in the prelims. Kayla Hope of Tamaqua won both the long jump (15-4) and triple jump (33-7.50).

Saint Basil's girls won five of the six relays, highlighted by a 1:49.8 4x200 and a 4:13.7 4x400. Amy Hicks of Swenson won
the 100 meter hurdles in 16.6, Nicole Grasty of Abington ran 60.2 to win the 400 meter dash, and Spring Gamble of Girls
High won the shot put with a mark of 41-11.
For the boys, Tommy Timmins of Phoenixville won the 300 hurdles in 40.2, Swenson ran 1:34.7 to win the 4x200 meter relay,
and Hiree Peoples of Girard College won the triple jump (43-5.25) and the high jump (6-2).

Krista Kuss of Baldwin won all three sprint events to kick off her 2011 season. She ran 12.75 to win the 100 meter dash, ran 26.03 to win the 200 meter dash, and 1:01.71 to win the 400. Halie Carter of North Allegheny ran 2:21.32 to win the 800 meter run, and Kaitlyn Brace of Peters Township won the javelin with a mark of 128-11.
For the boys, the 3200 meter run was arguably the deepest event of the opening weekend, with Paul DeGregorio of Baldwin (9:42.46) to lead five guys under ten minutes. Ryan Gil of North Allegheny ran 4:27.51 to win the 1600 meter run. Teammate Kyle Shivetts ran 22.68 to win the 200 meter dash. Luke Monta of Greensburg Salem won the shot put with a mark of 52-9.25 with David Reinhardt of Bradford Area finishing 2nd with a mark of 52-4. Billy Stanley of South Park won the javelin with a mark of 185-1 with Reinhardt earning another 2nd place finish with a mark of 184-8. Jacop Hensh of Laurel Highlands cleared 14-3 to win the pole vault.

Courtney Mitchell of Central Dauphin East ran 12.55 to win the 100 meter dash. Both her (12.49) and Jessica Whitmore of Chambersburg (12.34) ran faster prelim times. Deme'shia Davis of Central Dauphin East won the 400 meter dash with a meet record time of 58.21. Ahmenah Richardson of Milton Hershey cleared 5-4 to set a meet record in the high jump and won the triple jump with a mark of 37-9.75. Kathleen McPhillips of Carlisle won the pole vault (11-6 meet record) and the long jump (17-1). Aubree Ray of Middletown Area threw 129-10 to set a meet record in the discus.
For the boys, Kelvin Ojo of Stone Bridge ran 11.22 to win the 100 meter dash and his teammate Adrian Thomas won the 400 meter dash in 50.43. Kyle Bobo of Biglerville ran 22.75 to win the 200 meter dash. Daniel Patti of Chambersburg ran 9:50.21 to win the 3200 meter run. Victor Cotton of Hershey won the triple jump with a mark of 44-7, and Austin Rizzo of Williamsport won the long jump with a mark of 21-9.

Strath Haven boys got off to a strong start in the cold, winning the 4x100 (42.81) and 4x400 meter relays (3:26.77). Wissahickon ran 10:43.40 to win the distance medley relay and ran 1:03.65 to win the shuttle hurdle relay. Top field highlights include Wellington Zaza having the best triple jump mark on the day with his 43-5 and Ryan Brumfield of Unionville clearing 6-4 in the high jump.
For the girls, Strath Haven came away with five relay victories, highlighted by a 4:19.72 sprint medley relay win and a 1:05.67 shuttle hurdle relay win, a US#6 mark. Upper Darby ran 49.67 to win the 4x100 meter relay. Field event highlights included Yuwen Michelson and Rachel Van Metre of Strath Haven going 1-2 in the long jump relay.
