PA Girls Breakthrough Performances: Week of May 4th


Pennsylvania high school track and field athletes posted personal bests across multiple events during the week of May 4.

Alyssa Fowler (Greencastle-Antrim) cleared 11-6 in the pole vault at the Antrim Way Honda Rt.16 Last Chance Invite on May 4, improving from her previous best of 10-6 set in April. The mark ranks #16 in Pennsylvania and #3 among sophomores, and established a new school record. Fowler won the event among seven competitors.

Alayzha Twyman (Penn Manor) cleared 5-2 in the high jump at Penn Manor HS vs JP McCaskey on May 4, improving from her previous best of 4-10 set in April. The mark ranks #57 in Pennsylvania and #24 among seniors. Twyman won the event among eight competitors.

Jemma Geffrard (Pennsbury) ran 25.70 in the 200 meters at the Suburban One League - Patriot Division Track and Field Championships on May 7, improving from her previous best of 27.85 set in April. The time ranks #112 in Pennsylvania and #23 among sophomores. Geffrard won the event among 22 competitors.

Jamaya Holmes (Council Rock North) ran 12.49 in the 100 meters at the Suburban One League - Patriot Division Track and Field Championships on May 7, improving from her previous best of 13.00 set in April. The time ranks #123 in Pennsylvania and #41 among juniors. Holmes placed second among 21 competitors and also improved her long jump personal best from 15-1.25 to 16-4.5 at the same meet.

Kynai Tindell (Bartram) ran 15.24 in the 100-meter hurdles at the Philadelphia Public League Championships on May 6, improving from her previous best of 15.93. The time ranks #55 in Pennsylvania and #25 among seniors, and established a new school record. Tindell placed third among 15 competitors.

Victoria Byler (Sharon) threw 43-7.5 in the shot put at the Mercer County Track and Field Invitational on May 7, improving from her previous best of 39-9. The mark ranks #7 in Pennsylvania and #5 among seniors, and established a new school record. Byler won the event among 35 competitors and also improved her discus personal best from 120-1 to 129-7 at the same meet.

Corinna Pierdominico (Cocalico) ran 5:05.65 in the 1600 meters at the Lebanon-Lancaster League Championship on May 8, improving from her previous best of 5:16.25 set in April. The time ranks #51 in Pennsylvania and #9 among sophomores, and established a new school record. Pierdominico placed fourth among 30 competitors.

Jaedyn Brown (York County School of Technology) threw 140-9 in the discus at the YAIAA Track and Field Championship on May 6, improving from her previous best of 130-10. The mark ranks #4 in Pennsylvania and #1 among juniors, and established a new school record. Brown won the event among 19 competitors and also improved her shot put personal best from 34-3 to 38-7 at the same meet.

Kenzianna Flores (Twin Valley) ran 11:24.60 in the 3200 meters at the BCIAA Firing Championship Track Meet on May 7, improving from her previous best of 11:39.05. The time ranks #88 in Pennsylvania and #34 among seniors. Flores placed fourth among 25 competitors and also improved her 800-meter personal best from 2:31.97 to 2:31.85 at the same meet.

Sariah Davis (Wilson) ran 58.95 in the 400 meters at the BCIAA Firing Championship Track Meet on May 7, improving from her previous best of 59.72. The time ranks #108 in Pennsylvania and #7 among freshmen. Davis placed third among 28 competitors.
