LaSalle College and North Penn went to New York to race in the biggest one-day invitational, the Manhattan Inv at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx. Both teams drew the toughest race, in the tougest weather, and responded well. They took 4th and 5th, respectively, behind US#1 Fayetteville-Manlius NY, NE#5 CBA NJ and NE#3 Morris Hills NJ. Leading North Penn with a 12th place finish was Cody Edling, going a very quick 13:14.1. LaSalle #1 Pat Jeffers was just behind in 15th in 13:17.1. Also earning spots in the top 30 were North Penn's Zack Montijo, 18th in 13:20.9, teammate Dom Calamia, 22nd in 13:32.9, and LaSalle's Bob McCullough, 23rd in 13:35.5.
The North Penn girls were 8th in the Varsity B race, as Jennifer Schofield ran 16:21.3. Taylor Allderdice took 5th in the Varsity C behind Sassi Kerpedjieva in 16:45.5. St. Hubert's was 7th in Varsity F as Tracey Kelly ran 17:09.5. In the other boys races, Allderdice was 10th in the Varsity A. Top PA runner in the race was Pat Hess of Bishop McDevitt, 17th in 13:50.5. Central Bucks South ran to 7th in Varsity B behind Bob Greer, 30th in 13:55.4.
Top team and individual performances in other races included Jeff Dickson and Matt Robinson going 3rd and 6th in the Boys JV B race. LaSalle's Phil Wood ran 13:53.3 to win the JV Boys C race where his team finished 2nd. The Explorer's Frosh team finished 3rd in the D race as Sean McCullaugh ran 9:08.2.
