WINNERS TABLE

Angel Piccirillo of Homer Center came out flying early in the mile, running a 68 first quarter. Hannah Grossman of Strath Haven hung tough to a half mile split of 2:23 for Piccirillo. The 2nd half of the race was all Angel, going through three-quarters in 3:34 on her way to shattering the meet record with a new NATIONAL LEADING AND ALL TIME STATE RECORD TIME OF 4:44.20! The time is also tied for US#9 All-Time.  The previous record 4:47.77 by Kim Gallagher in 1980! Ned Willig of Great Valley took advantage of an even paced first half mile and made his move with three laps to go to win the mile championship in 4:15.66!

The girls 400 meter champion came out of the non seeded section, as Kenya Woodall of Coatesville ran a state leading and US#6 time of 55.88! Her win was more than 7 tenths of a second better than the field. The boys 400 meter champion was recent PA resident and Greater Latrobe senior Tyler Ross, who ran a PA#1 time of 49.01 to win the gold medal.

In the infield of the track, Eliana Yankelev of Lower Merion ran a PA#2 time of 8.89 twice, including the final round to become the state champion. In the anticipated boys 60 meter hurdles, Aaron Willett ran three lifetime best performances to win the gold medal in a PA#2 and US#5 time of 7.89! In the girls 60 meter dash, Jody Evans of Quakertown capped off a full season of being PA#1 with a US#5 time of 7.47. For the boys, TJ Elliott of Central Dauphin East repeated as champion with a US#9 time of 6.87.

Emma Keenan went wire to wire in the 800 meter run to win her first indoor state championship with a US#2 time of 2:10.84. Today was the 3rd time this season she has recorded a US#2 performance. For the boys, Haneef Hardy of Swenson capped off a phenomenal 9 month stretch with his first state title, running a lifetime best and US#5 time of 1:53.30.

Deme'shia Davis of Central Dauphin East won the girls 200 meter dash in a US#6 24.42, while Eric Futch of Penn Wood won the boys 200 meter dash with a US#5 time of 21.60!

Angel Piccirillo of Homer Center won her 2nd gold medal of the day with a solid US#10 9:53.79 performance in the 3000 meter run. Dustin Wilson of Chestnut Hill won the boys 3000 meter run in a US#2 time of 8:39!

Pennridge won the girls 4x200 meter relay with a PA#2 time of 1:42.39! Penn Wood won the boys 4x200 meter relay in a US#2 time of 1:29.02!

Strath Haven won their 2nd straight girls 4x800 meter relay with a winning time of 9:11.71, just missing the state record of 9:11.48! Pennridge boys pulled an upset in the 4x800 meter relay with a US#6 time of 7:51.74!

Notre Dame set a new meet record in the girls distance medley relay with a US#7 time of 12:04.79! Great Valley won the boys distance medley with a state leading time of 10:23.77 with a 3:01.2 lead off leg from Ned Willig.

Swenson girls capped off their team championship with a 4x400 meter relay victory in 3:56.24. Penn Wood won the boys 4x400 meter relay in 3:20.83.

In field event action, Jordan Matthews of Abington repeated as long jump champion on her final jump with a state leading mark of 18-10! The boys long jump champion is John Landis of Father Judge with a winning jump of 23-0.75!

John Mudrey of Hickory won the boys high jump with a personal best clearance of 6-8! Megan McCloskey of Germantown Academy and Taylor Morgan of Upper Dublin both cleared 5-8 in the high jump, with McClockey winning the gold medal on the 4th jump off attempt!

Jared Allison of Dallastown won the boys pole vault with a clearance of 15-6! The girls gold medal went to Larisa Debich of Hempfield (7) who tied her seasonal best mark of 12-6 to win the title.

In the triple jump, Lanae Newsome of Brookville won the girls event with a mark of 38-7, while Jarred Posey of William Penn (York) won the boys triple jump with a mark of 48-2.50.

Hickory swept the shot put titles, as Taylor Woods won the girls title with a PA#1 mark of 44-2.50 and Matt Bell won the boys shot put with a PA#2 and US#7 mark of 60-10.25.

Swenson girls won the team championship with 42 points, Strath Haven was 2nd with 26 points, and both Pennridge and Hempfield (7) tied for 3rd with 25 points. For the boys, Strath Haven became the team champions with 44 points, Penn Wood was 2nd with 41 points, and Swenson finished 3rd with 32 points.

  Angel Piccirillo enters her senior season as one of the top distance runners in Pennsylvania, as well as the U.S. Bursting on the scene as a sophomore - Piccirillo won her first of two indoor state mile titles, first of two outdoor 1600 meter titles and first of two Penn Relays COA titles. So far in her senior year, she has added a second state title in AA cross country, and a Northeast Region title and 2nd Foot Locker Finalist qualifier.
