The Soder brothers (Eric + Brian) took it out hard, but Jed Christiansen, Greenville, maintained a 25 yard gap (slightly obscured at right). With about 800 left, the gap grew smaller, and with 400 to go, Jed was with the Soders. Christiansen passed Brian (15:14), but Eric (15:04) held on for a 2 second win on the 3-mile course. Harbor Creek cruised in the team competition with their 34 points easily outdistancing McDowell's 78. The developing story is that team behind the Soders, as all five scorers were in the top 14. The gap of 1:45 is a bit wide, but there's time to correct that. In the girls' race, Jesi Christiansen wins again, this time in 17:58. Seneca, with 69, was 14 better than McDowell.
