The Quaker Valley girls and boys teams took titles, but not without a fight. Zach Thomas led both his team and other individuals with his 1st place 16:58 (betters Zack Dorman's 2001 course record of 17:16). Ellwood City was 2nd, ten points back. West Allegheny's Christine Taranto took the girls' individual title in 19:11 (betters 19:45 course record of Lauren Shaffer in 1999). But Quaker Valley, behind the 3rd place finish of Maxine Markfield in 19:55, captured a five-point win over Montour. Moon Area's Sam Howard was 2nd in 19:47.
