Jack Pyrah Invitational 2012

The Saint Joseph's men's and women's indoor track teams are set to kick off the 2011-12 season this Friday at the Jack Pyrah Invitational. The meet will be held at the Haverford College field house at 5:00 p.m.

The first meet of the indoor track & field season is on tap for this evening when Villanova hosts the ninth annual Jack Pyrah Invitational at Haverford College.

Senior Shericka Ward (Leesburg, Fla.) broke two meet records - including one of her own previous marks - and freshman Faith Dismuke (Passaic, N.J.) also set a record as Villanova opened the 2011-12 indoor season by hosting the ninth annual Jack Pyrah Invitational at Haverford College on Friday evening. In all the Wildcats registered seven first-place finishes in the season's first meet.

There was no team scoring in the season opener, in which senior thrower Frank Anuszewski (Pottstown, Pa.) was a double winner in the weight throw and the shot put. Villanova also scored wins in the 1000 meters, 3000 meters and pole vault.
