You beat Sheena Gordon and the entire field in the 100 Hurdles two years in a row. How did you accomplish that? "Hard work. Oh man, hard work. I don't even know how I did it because I was so tired today. I had a long night last night, and I was real sick this morning, and I didn't think I was going to do that well. I was nervous, and the food that I ate yesterday, it made my stomach so upset. But I was praying a lot, so maybe the Lord did something for me."
Sheena got out well. What were you thinking over those middle-late hurdles? "I wasn't thinking anything but just to be in front. I know how tall she is. I know how she just steps over hurdles, and I gotta jump because I'm so short. But I'm thinking that with my speed, that's why I was able to win. Those last three hurdles, I had to push myself, and I did."
That's a PR? First time under 14? "I've done 13's in practice, but it doesn't count until you do it at a meet."
On racing against good friend and long-time United Stars teammate, Tiffany Abney. "It's so tough racing against her because we know each other so well, and we know what the other one is going to do and is capable of. But we don't hate each other or anything while we're racing. We just both want to win."
