Coach,
Shamokin would like to invite you to the 34th Purple & White Relays. We will also be celebrating the 50th Season for Shamokin Area Track & Field and honoring all past and present Athletes of the program.
Entry Fee is only $100 per team or $200 for both male and female Teams
A chance to bring more kids to a big meet atmosphere.
Larger Programs this gives you a chance to split teams.
Or Programs that take a handful of athletes to the numerous invites, this is a chance to bring the rest of your team and provide the opportunity to compete, improve and have fun.
OPEN MILE: this is a non-scoring event and an opportunity for you to enter any level athlete. One heat for Female and One for Males. Last year this race received great reviews. Unlimited amount of entries per team. Tons of PRs came from younger runners in this race last year.
Exhibition heats on the track. We will gladly accept additional Relay teams. They will be non-scoring. (Ex: Sham 4x1 A, Sham 4x1 B, Sham 4x1 C)
Field Events & Exhibition: 2 predetermined athletes will make up a team and will count towards team scoring. We will except 1 or 2 additional athletes from your team, as long as you feel these athletes have a opportunity to compete at your district meet and are trying to qualify or improve their position in the district rankings. (EX: Boys Shot Sham A Taylor 48 Knowles 45 Exhibition Zalar 39 Grimes 27 Grimes would not be a good candidate for this meet. If you question whether they should be entered or not, please ask.)
Last year this meet ended at 8pm and we hope to do the same this year.
Annually Purple & White Relay show cases talent that equals or surpasses times/distance or heights that you will find at other invites.

3:15pm Boys High Jump (starting Height 5'4") Followed by Girls High Jump (starting Height 4'4")
3:15pm Boys Long Jump followed by Girls Long Jump (open Pit)
3:15pm Boys Javelin/Girls Shot Put/ Boys Discus
Followed by Boys Shot Put/Girls Discus/ Girls Javelin
3:15pm Girls Pole Vault (opening height 7'0")
Followed by Boys Pole Vault (opening Height 9'0")
Boys Triple Jump/ Followed by Girls Triple Jump (open Pit) this will start at the conclusion of the Long jump
Running Events start @ 4pm will continue with a rolling order

4x100 Meter Relay Finals
Open Mile Boys (non scoring event/ unlimited amount of athletes can be entered)
Sam Weaver Shuttle Hurdle Relay Finals
4x200 Meter Relay Finals
100-100-200-400 Meter Relay Finals
4x400 Meter Relay Finals
* Field events will be comprised of 2 athletes, that will have each athletes best effort totaled together for the finishing result.
