Our stadium and track consist of a all-weather 8-lane track, jumping surfaces and runways. ONLY 1/8"SPIKES ARE PERMITTED ON THE ALL-WEATHER SURFACES. The shot and discus circles are concrete while the javelin runway is grass. All of the throwing event areas are on the west end (scoreboard) of the stadium. The shot is next to the home stands, the javelin is behind the scoreboard and the discus is just outside the stadium fence west of the javelin area. The horizontal jumps are west of the visitor's stands and we use separate vaulting pits at the east side of the stadium to run the boys and girls pole vault at the same time.
All track events will be run as finals, with places determined on time. A tentative time schedule of the events is included with this mailing. All running event relays will consist of 4 person relays. All throwing events and horizontal jumps will consist of 2 person relays, with places determined by adding together the best distance of each person. Each athlete will be given 3 trials. The pole vault and high jump will also consist of 2 person relays, with places determined by adding together the best heights of each person. Starting heights will be: girls' high jump 4' 4"; boys' high jump 5' 4"; girls' pole vault 7' 0"; and boys' pole vault 9' 6". Meet scoring will be the top 6 place winners and medals are awarded to all 6 places in each event. A team champion award will be given to the top girls' teams and the top boys' teams.
