Your middle school teams (7th & 8th grade boys & girls) are cordially invited to participate in the 23rd Annual
Moon Area Middle School Invitational to be held on Monday, May 5, 2025. This is a late afternoon meet starting at
3:00PM and is limited to the first fifteen (15) schools to register.
Goals for this invitational include:
Running an exceptionally organized and efficient meet
Promoting positive sportsmanship and team values
Celebrating the middle school athletic experience in a fun, exciting way
This invitational will include all events held in anormal dual middle school track meet.
Each team will be permitted to enter one (1) team in each relay event and up to three (3) individuals in all other running and field events.Each athlete may participate in up to 3 individual events and 1 relay (4 total). Could be 2 relays and 2 individual just not 4 individual events.
The first three (3) places in each event will receive medals, with ribbons awarded to places 4-8.Team trophies awarded to 1st and 2nd place in boys and girls competitions.
The entry fee is $225 total per school. Please make your check payable to the TIGER TRAX Boosters. Once I receive your entry fee, I will contact you with further meet details and instructions on how to submit your rosters.
Order of events and details.
Running Events
All running heats will be on seeded times. Trials may be run in the 100 meter dash. The top 8 will advance to the finals.
100 hurdle trials (balanced heats seeded *aka fastest in lane 4 of each consecutive heat)
100 trials (balanced heats seeded)
100 hurdle finals (top 8 times advance)
100 finals (top 8 times advance)
1600 meters
4x100 relay
400 meter dash
800 meters
200 meters
4x400 meters
Field Events
Horizontal Jumps will be run on 2 pits simultaneously. Open pit for 2 hours. Long Jump then triple jump.
High jump will be run on 2 pits simultaneously.
Pole Vault- Boys then Girls
Shot Put - Boys then Girls (Broken into flights by schools)
Discus- Girls then Boys (Broken into flights by schools)
All participants in the shot put, discus, long jump, and triple jump will have 3 attempts with no finals.
Additional Details:
Stay out of the school and stadium locker rooms. Use the stadium bathrooms.
All events will be scored 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and 1, with the winners getting 10 team points.
Refreshments and T-Shirts will be on sale during the meet.
Each team must provide at least 1 coach to help officiate the meet.
All athletes should wear a school issued uniform when competing.
Please do not tape or mark the track.
Chalk will be provided.
Starting blocks will be provided.
Bus parking near the softball field on the service road then moved to opposite side of high school after 2:30.
