Meet Information
Coaches,
The Cal U Track and Field staff regrets to inform you that we are forced to cancel the CAL Track and Field Carnival (High School Meet) for 2011 on April 15th.
We apologize for the delay in sending this message but we wanted to be 100% sure that we would be unable to host before making this decision. Due to construction taking place near our throws area, we will not have our throws area completed in time to host a meet on April 15th. The construction of our new javelin runway will not be completed in time for the meet and the Hammer/Discus area is impacted by construction taking place for a new baseball field. We had a meeting this morning with our Physical Plants Project Manager and Athletic Director and they do not believe that the site will be ready in time to host the meet. As a staff, we were told in the fall that this project would be complete before the spring however they experienced major setbacks in November and this delayed the project. Today was the first chance we were provided to meet with the Project Manager in order to find out the amount of time needed to complete the project.
As a staff, we want to apologize for the inconvenience. We fully understand the burden this will place on your team as you have to adjust your schedules.
Please feel free to contact the coaching staff if you have any questions or issues. 724-938-5828.
Sincerely,
