Jordan Geist of Knoch has already solidified his legacy in Pennsylvania high school track and field. That much is for sure.
But the senior and University of Arizona signee put his name in the record books once more on Thursday at the District 7 (WPIAL) Championships at Baldwin High School in Pittsburgh. Geist threw 208-7 in the discus to take the win and break the long-standing PA state record in the event. The previous record was 207-4, held by Brian Milne of Fort LeBoeuf, stood since 1991.
Geist tossed a throw of 198-1 in the prelims, before popping the state record on his sixth and final attempt in the finals of the competition. He already holds the PA state record in the shot put. Geist will contest both the shot put and discus at the PIAA Track & Field State Championships next week in Shippensburg.
Former record holder Milne even ha some words for Geist:
