Nick Dahl of Germantown Friends, fresh off a win at the PA Independent Schools Championship on October 31, took to the track, winning the Warrior Classic at West Chester Henderson.
Dahl narrowly defeated Lake Lehman's Dominic Hockenbury in the 3200-meter race on Henderson's track. Dahl ran 9:03 to Hockenbury's 9:05 to claim the win. Dahl was second in last year's edition of the Warrior Classic, which is seen as a tune-up in between states and Foot Locker/NXN.
Both will be looking to extend their seasons past regionals later this month. Hockenbury was 15th at Foot Locker Northeast at Van Cortlandt Park last year and has goals to crack the top ten and book a trip to San Diego for nationals.
Downingtown West's Ryan Barton, who didn't race at the state meet in Hershey, took third in 9:38. Cardinal O'Hara duo Rob Morro and Ryan James finished fourth and sixth, respectively, sandwiching Malvern Prep senior and Inter-Ac champion, Colin Willis, who was fifth.
Downingtown West's Shaun Bullock, Henderson's Spencer Smucker, Germantown Friends' Grayson Hepp and Germantown Academy's Owen Ritz rounded out the top ten.
