Will McLemore run away with it?
It's not often you see a top seed by over a second in a sprint event, but that's what we'll get at states in the 400 meters. Josh McLemore of Downingtown West has been on a tear this season, and he'll look to carry that into the first race of what should be a busy day for the senior. McLemore ran a 48.50 to finish second, just behind Virginia's Josephus Lyles. If you didn't know McLemore before that, surely you must now.

Penn Wood's Ndiaga Seck will look to challenge. He's been running well lately, including wins at both the PTFCA Carnival and TFCAofGP Meet of Champs in the 400. Abington's Isiah Smith was third a year ago, making him the top returner, but he's been hampered recently by injury. What kind of shape will he be in on Sunday?
Austin Howell of Pennridge and Kier Miner of Cumberland Valley round out those in the fastest heat. Both have run well this season at Penn State and they'll look for another big race on Sunday.
Slower heats in an event like the 400 often find quite a bit of success. Last year, Upper Moreland's Tyler Whitmore and Abington's Smith took second and third from the fourth of five heats. That could create a big opportunity for North Penn's Dante Watson and St. Joseph's Prep's Miles Green, among others in the second fastest heat.
