Plenty of top competitors in the state will head to Hempfield in District 3 for the Black Knight Invite. There will be a lot of potential for some new PA#1s.
Solanco's Billy Cooney will make his invitational debut, running both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. He'll be one of the favorites when states season rolls around.
Terrance Laird of Coatesville will get on the line for the 200. He's another state favorite and the weather looks promising for a fast, possible PA#1, out of Laird.
The distance events on the boys' side should be exciting. JP McCaskey's Nathan Henderson, fresh off a monster indoor season, will race the 1600. The junior will be favored in that race. In the 3200, Ephrata's Nate Becker and Zach Lefever will shoot for a 1-2 finish.
In the field, keep an eye out for Coatesville's Dondre Pittman in the high jump and Conestoga Valley's Jose Barbon in the long jump.
The girls side is loaded up top as well. In the hurdles, Oxford's Katie Dodson will look to make moves in the state rankings. She's entered in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Coatesville freshman Porsha Miles will look to do the same in the 100 and 200 meter dashes.
Fleetwood's Sarah Crissman returns to the scene for the first time in an invite since last year. Crissman took seventh in the state a year ago, running 2:14 as a freshman. After not competing indoors, this we'll be our first look at the sophomore in 2016. Then in the 1600, Wilson's Alison Willingmyre will be the favorite.
Kutztown's Jocelen Ruth will be competing in all three throws events. In the long jump and triple jump, Wilson's Eyitope Salako will be the top seed. Spring Grove's Nathalie Elliott is entered in the pole vault, where she'll be favored.
