AAA Boys' Pole Vault

No pole vaulter has been on more of a tear in 2016 than Griffin Thompson of State College. The
Penn State-bound senior didn't even make the state meet last season and this
year, he looks like the favorite to win it. Thompson won the Penn Relays
competition and continued to improve. At District 6, he cleared a state-best
15-10 for the win.
He's got a handful of close competitors that will be looking to take the win, though. McDowell's Caleb Sanford won the indoor state title and has cleared 15-9 at his home invite this season. The senior can't be counted in this one.
Hatboro-Horsham's Nick Marino will be another one to watch. The junior cleared 15-6 at the Ship Invite and has done everything he needed to do to bring him to the state meet. With a good day, Marino can take the win. He did beat Thompson at Ship.
Hempfield's Hayden Fox, Red Lion's Gregory Potter, Kennett's Xavier Feliciano and East Pennsboro's Payton Morris are among those that will have their eyes on the podium.
