In the discus, we have a matchup between last year's state
champion and the upstart PA#1. Schuylkill Valley's Joey Mundell returns after capturing the state championship as a
junior. But despite that fact, Mundell will come into this weekend as the
underdog.
Instead, it's Hickory junior Evan Blaire who will be the one to beat. Blaire has been on a tear this season, throwing a season best of 198-3 at a dual meet and touching over 180 on multiple occasions. The 200-foot mark must be on his mind.
After the top two, North Schuylkill's Jadyn Anczarski, Freeport's Bobby Jendrejewski, and Johnsonburg's Ryan Kilhoffer will be among the others trying to make a push towards the top of the leaderboard.
