What was your most memorable race/competition?

My most memorable competition was at the 2016 PIAA state meet. I had come in seeded second in high jump with a pr of 6'7 and I was seeded 3rd in long jump with a pr of  22'10. I went into states expecting to do big things and that's exactly what happened. I had long jump first and I finished in 4th place with a new pr and school record of 23'2 ! I was upset I didn't win but proud I broke my school record. My next event was high jump. I was not the favorite to win. I have the champ good competition because I had a new Pr of 6'10 And I took second with the champ beating me on scratches. It was memorable because not only did I perform my best ever that day. It was my last track meet ever and I went out doing the best I could.

Where did you face your biggest competition?

I faced it every meet because my best friend and team mate just so happened to be the previous high jump state champion Qayyim Ali. so every meet I had big competition with him!

Out of all of your high school accomplishments, which stands out the most?

What stands out most is my school long jump record of 23'2'' and me making second team all state for high jump. Those are big to me!

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?

I wouldn't change anything. I literally went out doing the best I could in every event I did! I would like to be a state champ but when you pr and don't win you can't be too mad.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

In tenth grade I had torn my MCL and was out for months and still finished my season strong.

What will you miss the most?

I'll miss having my best friend by my side to compete with. I'll miss all the guy's I've met during meets and have gotten close with. I'll miss the sand of the long jump pit and the way it got in all my clothes and bags. I will miss the bus rides to far away invites and all the funny team moments we had on them. I'll miss my team and my coaches. But the thing I will miss most is knowing that I'll never get the chance to go over a high jump bar or go into a long jump pit in an actual meet ever again.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Put in work in the off season and make sure you give it your all when no one is watching so that when they are they will notice you and know how hard you worked to get where you are. You have the potential to be great but you have to work for it every day.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals overall?

They let me know every day that I have the potential to be great. And they never let me forget that. They pushed me to work hard on and off the track and they brought the best out of me as an athlete and as a man.

What are your college plans?

I'm going into the United State Air Force to serve this great country
