AA Girls | Central Catholic looks to defend title

D11 AA Girls Preseason Team Rankings

The key for Allentown Central Catholic last season was in its frontrunners. The 2015 D11-AA champs put three in the top six, which gave them a low enough score to win the title by 11 points. But two of those three are graduated now and that might leave the door open for a new team in AA.

Northwestern Lehigh and Tamaqua are a few teams looking to seize on that opportunity. Northwestern Lehigh returns Molly Tarvin and Madeline Consuelos, who were fifth and seventh respectively in the district last year. Tamaqua was fifth in the districts last year, but they return five of seven from last year and that experience could prove vital. Bethlehem Catholic, led by Rowan Pepe, and Saucon Valley led by individual champion Kiele Riefenstahl will look to get into the conversation as well.

Central Catholic's quest for a repeat will come from the returners or newcomers to its squad that can set up to make an impact, but all in all, this is a wide open compeititon.
