A Boys | Penn Valley looks to continue reign

D6-A Boys Team Preseason Rankings

Penns Valley will look to win its third straight Single-A district crown in District 6. They're favored to do so, but it could be a close battle for the title.

Penns Valley returns six of seven from a relatively young group, comprised of mostly rising juniors. Leading the way will probably be Chris Colwell, but Mark Bierly shouldn't be far behind. Charlie Romig and Sam Gray were also part of the top five from last year. The key for their success is finding a strong fifth runner.

Westmont Hilltop is a veteran group that will look for the upset over PV. They return a host of seniors, including Orion Voelker, Matt Young, Max Crans, and Alex Miller. With a good day, they'll look to seize on an opportunity to spoil Penns Valley's streak.

Saint Joseph's Catholic is an interesting case. They were second in the district last year and qualified for states behind a strong top runner in Michael Peters, but they'll need to retool in a big way to be competitive to try and recapture a state berth.

Purchase Line and Marion Center are a few others teams that will look to make some noise in District 6 this year.
