Council Rock Invitational (Newtown, PA)
At Tyler State Park in Newtown, we'll see some big names in District 1 go head-to-head. Neshaminy's Rusty Kujdych will be favored after a strong 5K debut last weekend at Briarwood, where he took third in the Championship Race. Looking to challenge will be Cb West's Brian Mass and CB South's Matthew Scarpill.
In the team race, we should get a good battle between hosts Council Rock North and Central Bucks West. North wasn't at full strength at Briarwood, though, and they'll look to regain form at their home course. West beat rival Central Bucks East in a dual meet earlier this week and they'll look to ride that momentum into Saturday.
In the girls' race, the battle for the individual crown up front should come down to Tasha Greene of Harriton and Rebecca Snyder of Oley Valley. Council Rock South's Brittany Gable, Hatboro's Hannah Knudsen and Neshaminy's Kabrina Weaver should also mix it up near the front.
Council Rock South is favored to take the team race. They were surprise winners in the Blue Race at PTXC 8 and have a underrated squad that should only get better from here. Harriton and Twin Valley will look to challenge South for the win.
