TEAMS!!!! Over 40 teams(10 on each team) will be lining up on this Saturday at 3:45 to compete in the annual Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh University. Some teams(especially the District 1 teams) will be getting on the course to see how they might fare at Districts on 10-28. Others want to run against some pretty tough competition. Finally, others want to run, as well as watch some really strong college races.
It looks like there are 8 teams with REAL hopes of being crowned the CHAMPIONS!! Two long shots are Easton(1st Northhampton-5th 2015) and Germantown Academy(1st George School). Cardinal O'Hara(1st Briarwood Champs--3rd Foundation Gold-2nd 2015) will have their #1 runner, Arizin(12), back, but they will be likely missing their #5. Padua(DEL)(1st White Clay-3rd Carlisle-8th 2015)will likely start with 1 point and hope their next 4 can battle for each and every spot! Perk Valley(2nd PTXC8-2nd Foundation Gold-3rd 2015) will likely be TOP 3 and has been running really well. Coming off a huge victory, Oakland Catholic(1st McDowell-1st Red, White, and Blue-1st Foundation Gold) made its case last week to be potentially PA STATE CHAMPIONS!! Centerville(OHIO) will be in the mix for sure!!! They have been way up there i OHIO races and are always a quality team! Finally, the well-known team from New York, Shenendehowa(1st Suffern) had 4 girls in the TOP 11 of 555 runners at Suffern and look to make a run at Nationals again.
PREDICTION---Centerville wins a close one over Shenendehowa with Perk Valley, Oakland Catholic, and O'Hara scoring well as the TOP PA team.
