Girls' Preview

The girls' race should be a close one.

A number of girls should be in the contention for the title. Abington's Kelly Jawork looks to be the favorite. Jawork, a sub-5 miler in outdoor track, won at Briarwood and hasn't appeared in an invitational since. Another strong performance on Saturday could solidify her as a strong contender to make states and place well in November in Hershey.

Many others will be vying for the win. Hatboro-Horsham's Hannah Knudsen, William Tennent's Lynne O'Connor, and Lower Merion's Rowan Hassman all ran well at Paul Short and should contend on Saturday. The Upper Dublin duo of Madeline Spaulding and Saddie Gustafson should be up in the top ten.

Council Rock South will look to continue its breakthrough season. The Golden Hawks won in the PTXC 8 Blue Race and the Council Rock Invitational and they'll be favored again this Saturday at Tennent. Junior Brittany Gable has been a strong force up front for the team.
