Boys' Recap

Franklin Regional's Mark Provenzo kept rolling on Saturday, proving still that he is the top AAA boys' runner in Pennsylvania. The senior won the AAA race in 15:55, the fastest time of the day. That's 39 seconds faster than his time at this invite last year and 28 seconds faster than his time from the District 7 Championship last year at this course. Conclusion: Provenzo is very fit and ready for a big postseason.

Baldwin's Casey Conboy continued his strong season and took second in 16:11. Fox Chapel freshman Christian Fitch was third in 16:47. In the team race, Fox Chapel squeaked by second place Pittsburgh Central Catholic in a close one; Fox Chapel 84, PCC 85.

In a battle of two teams that will surely be in contention in a crowded District 7 AA, South Fayette beat out Knoch for the team title in the AA race. South Fayette went 1-2 up front with Aaron Pfeil taking the win and teammate Sam Snodgrass placing second. Pfeil ran 16:17 to Snodgrass's 16:25. Knoch took the next two spots with Max Freyermuth and John Ejzak taking spots three and four. South Fayette was just slightly better across the board and came out on top:

In the A race, it was the Winchester Thurston show, even if they were without their top runner. Tristian Forsythe didn't toe the line for WT, but they still went 1-2-3-4 and then 12 to secure an easy victory with just 20 points. Ben Littman took the win in 16:30, while Shaun Hay was second, Sean Heintzleman was third and Gordon Pollock was fourth.
