Schuylkill League Championships Recap
GIRLS: Pine Grove's Christina Difalco took home the Schuylkill League title, winning in 18:50, 41 seconds up on second place. It's a major improvement for the sophomore, who was 11th at this meet last season. Marian Catholic's Tina Capparell was second in 19:31.
Tamaqua dominated the team race with 37 points. Monika Shimko was third in 20:15 and Sarah Maue was fourth in 20:42 to pace Tamaqua to the victory.
BOYS: The North Schuylkill boys cleaned up, taking the first four spots en route to a huge team win. After narrowly winning last season they left no doubt about it this year, scoring just 18 points in the win. Chris McCormick, second in 2015, moved up one spot and took the win on Wednesday in a time of 16:49. Sean McCabe was second, Lenny Bolinsky took third, and Matt McCormick was fourth for North Schuylkill.
Blue Mountain's Derek Mosteller was the next across, taking fifth in 17:08.
