DVGTCA Indoor Meet #3 Preview

In the 60 meters, Eliza Brooks of Neumann Goretti and Central Bucks South's Lydia Fielding will be the ones to watch. A few days removed from running a PA#3 in the 400 meters, Penn Wood's Terri Turner will drop down once again. She's entered in the 200 meters along with Imhotep's Avani Dorsey, Coatesville's Arianna Eberly, and Cheltenham's Brielle Lewis.

In the 60-meter hurdles, Padua's Taliah Cintron (from Delaware) will matchup with Saint Basil's Sophia Barnett, Council Rock South's Elke Knecht, Methacton's Amy Domenick, and Downingtown East's Evelyn Berecz. Berecz is also entered in the triple jump. The senior is the reigning AAA outdoor state champion in the event.

Cintron is also entered in the 400 meters, but the favorite there is Neumann Goretti's Sydni Townsend, who won this event at the Burdette Classic in December. Janae Pitt of Penn Wood and Kaela Jolibois are also in the field.

The 800 has a loaded field with any number of entries having a shot at the win. Abington's Kelly Jawork should be strong, but the field also includes Padua's Lydia Olivere, Agnes Irwin's Sanaiya Watts, Springfield-Montco's Sydni Stovall, Springside Chestnut Hill's Alexandria Kitchell, Neumann Goretti's Mykala Perry, and Hatboro-Horsham's Miranda Royds. In the 600 meters, watch for Pennridge's Juliet Ryan, the likely favorite.

In the 3000 meters, North Penn's Ariana Gardizy will make her open event debut of the indoor season. Pennridge's Monika Brill, Coatesville's Brooke Hutton, Souderton's Emily Bonaventure, Ridley's Jamie Green, and Hatboro-Horsham's Hannah Knudsen are also entered in the 15 lapper.

The high jump features plenty of the big names in PA. Souderton's Moira O'Malley, Central Bucks South's Valerie Przekop, and Cheltenham's Brianna Smith will square off. O'Malley and Przekop are the veterans and each have a state title to their names, but Smith has been an exciting freshman for the Panthers. All in all, this will be an exciting event to watch for.

In the shot put, the PA#1 since her season debut, Janese Lynch, will return to the circle. The Neumann Goretti senior will look to improve on her state-leading 45-4.5. Imhotep's Avani Dorsey is the top seed in the long jump, while Springside Chestnut Hill's Elizabeth Jefferson will look to continue her great start to the season in the pole vault.
