SPIRE Scholastic Meet #3 Preview

Ambridge Area's Isaac Elliott will return to the track, looking to improve on his own PA#1 in the 60 meters. This past weekened, Meadville's Journey Brown tied the state-leading time of 6.78. Elliott will also compete in the 400 meters, an event he also holds a PA#1. Can Elliott widen his state lead in two events?

Ryan Thrush of Brookville has had a busy winter so far and that will continue into Friday. Thrush is entered in both the 200 meters and the 800 meters and he'll be one to watch in both. Winchester Thurston's Tristan Forsythe is also entered in the 800 and should pose a threat to Thrush. In the 1600 meters, look out for Greensburg Salem's Cameron Binda, as well as Penn Trafford's Nick Wagner (though Wagner is also entered in the Armory Track Invitational).

Canon McMilan's Chyna Beck is the top PA entry in the 200 meters, while Villa Maria's Grace Brown will be worth keeping an eye on in the 400 meters. Beck is also entered in the triple jump.

The distance events should be interesting. Oakland Catholic's Lauren Finikiotis is entered in the 1600 meters, along with Cardinal Wuerl North Catholic's Rylee Kopchak. Kopchak is also entered in the 800 meters, along with State College's Jordan Rohrbach and Greensburg Salem's Malia Anderson.

State College's Taylor Givens is the top seed in the long jump. After last week at Susquehanna, she sits at PA#9 in the event.
