Looking Back On The State Meet Records That Went Down This Year

The Record: 8.25 in the Girls' 60m Hurdles (2016)

The Record Holder: Chanel Brissett (Cheltenham)

The Challenger: Chanel Brissett (Cheltenham)

Why The Record Could Go Down: After an injury took out the first half of Brissett's indoor campaign, the senior and USC recruit is rounding into form. She ran a US#1 8.30 at the Carnival this past week, proving she's fit and ready for a nice peak at indoor states.

The Prediction: Brissett, who could also be doubling in the 60 meter dash, nips her old record and gets ready for an even faster performance at indoor nationals.

THE RESULT: Brissett, who did do the 60 dash/60 hurdles double, crushed her own state meet record of 8.25. The senior ran a US#4 all-time mark of 8.14 to take down the state meet and overall state record in the event.
