Haverford Invitational - Meet Recap

GIRLS' RECAP

Strath Haven's super sophomore Grace Forbes took down the meet record in the 800 meters. Forbes ran a time of 2:17.50, a PA#4 to take the win over second place Tara Higgins of Penncrest. Grace's older sister Maddie Forbes took home first in the 1600 meters, running 5:18.29 for the win.

West Chester East freshman Allyson Clarke picked up the win in the 3200 meters, outlasting a strong field. Clarke's time of 11:20.52 breaks the meet record and puts her at PA#8.

Owen J. Roberts' Teneisha Myers got her outdoor season off to a great start. The senior won both the 100 meters (12.57) and the 200 meters (25.91). Both of those times are PA#3s. Ridley's Senna Ohlsson won the 400 meters in a time of 59.42. Bonner & Prendie's Alaina Johnson ran a PA#7 47.49 in the 300 meter hurdles to take the win.

Methacton won the 4x100 meter relay in a PA#2 48.92. CB West took home gold in the 4x400, running a PA#5 4:05.59. Owen J. Roberts clocked a PA#8 9:48.57 to win the 4x800.

Souderton's Moira O'Malley cleared 5-3 to win the high jump and break the meet record. Methacton's Rainah Dunham swept the horizontal jumps. She jumped 17-1 in the long and 37-1 in the triple for a pair of golds. Haverford's Cecila Katcavage won the shot out with a throw of 37-11.25

BOYS' RECAP

Glen Mills had a big day in the sprints. Keon Rantin won the 400 meters in a quick 49.85, which puts him at PA#2. Denarii Springs won the 200 meters in 22.85 and his teammate Jbarwho Flahn was second in 23.08. The Bulls also ran 43.39 in the 4x100 meter relay, a meet record and PA#2, and added a win in the 4x400 (3:26.11). Quadir Gibson threw 51-10 in the shot put for the win.

Bonner & Prendie's Anthony Harper was strong in the 3200 meters. Harper posted a winning time of 9:41.84 to beat out Souderton's Connor McMenamin, who was second in 9:48.

Dayo Abeeb of Strath Haven started his season off well. Abeeb won both the long jump (20-10.5) and the triple jump (44-7.5). Westtown's Julian Klenner cleared 6-4 to win the high jump. Methacton's Patrick Maloney won the discus, tossing a meet record 145-9. Strath Haven's Cooper Driscoll won the javelin with a throw of 166-1.
